Leeroy Thornhillwas one of the founding members and spent 10 years as part of the Prodigy on their worldwide tours. In 2001 Leeroy left the band to concentrate on his DJ career and his own solo-productions. Flightcrank – his band released their first album in March 2001 and his own productions have been mixed by the likes of Maxim, Adamski, Lee Scratch Perry, Mad Professor and Genaside 2.
Leeroy Thornhill – EX Prodigy
After joining forces with renowned DJ Hyper to form the band HYPER the release of the critically acclaimed Hyper
album “We Control” was followed by the album “Suicide Monday” both featuring Leeroy on vocal duty.
Leeroy has teamed up with German DJ/Producer Marten Hörger (a winner of two Breakspoll 2014 awards) to
form a new production outfit Smash HiFi. October 2016 saw the release of the first Smash HiFi album “Order More
Disorder” a heavy multi-genre collaboration that features vocals from, Kym Mazelle, Lexie Lee, Ka, MC Sirreal and
The Legionnaires. Music from this album featured on a KIA car ad. The band took to the stage in 2017, playing
Festivals across Europe, with the highlight being Glastonbury. The bands second album is well underway, with a
2019 release targeted.
Leeroy has been remixing for various artists and DJ’s such as The Ting Tings, Darren Emerson, Maxim (Prodigy),
David Gray, Dr. Doom (KoolKeith) and the Dub Pistols.
Leeroy is continuing to produce music with releases on Get Hype Recordings in the UK, the Label, owned by the
Prototypes. His first release, “Wait For Me”, reached number 3 in the Beatport Charts, with some big remixes from
The Prototypes Adamski and Smooth. And with future releases on Get Hype in the pipeline, there is no slowing
down. His influence of different music styles also reflects in his DJ sets, bringing Fresh new sounds mixed with
some Old-School and classic edits.
