Sandra Caldarone was born in Montegnée on 15th October 1972.
On May 3rd, 1986, she wins the “Eurovision Song Contest” in Bergen (Norway) for Belgium with the song “J’aime la vie”. At that time she was only 13,5 years old and became the youngest winner ever!

In a few weeks’ time, J’aime la vie becomes double platinum. In Belgium more than 350.000 copies were sold and 1.400.000 worldwide. J’aime la vie stays several weeks on number 1 in the Belgian charts.

That same year, she participates in the international festival of Yamaha in Tokyo. Sandra finishes fourth together with Eros Ramazzotti, afterwards she starts a tour through Japan.

A few months later, Sandra sings the title song of the animation movie “Il était une fois la vie”, composed by Michel Legrand. After that, Sandra has recorded several singles and albums, received multiple golden records and has done several television performances in countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, Luxemburg, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Romania, Turkey, Israel, Japan and the United States.

In 1990, she sings “J’aime mon pays – Ik hou van mijn land” in duet with Luc Steeno at the occasion of the 60th anniversary of King Baudouin and 40 years of kingship, Sandra sings the song “J’aime mon pays – Ik hou van mijn land” in duet with Luc Steeno.

In the month of June of that same year, Sandra co-presents the TV show “10 qu’on aime” on Belgian television. Sandra is member of the jury of the TV show “Pour la Gloire”. Sandra, sings together with Helmut Lotti and Paul Michiels in 3 languages the song “Song for Kosovo” for the war victims in Kosovo. During several months, she plays the role of Eponine in the famous Victor Hugo musical “Les Misérables” a production of Music Hall, in Antwerp.
Thanks to her passion for the musical, Sandra is offered a role as solo performer in the production “Musicals From The Heart 1 & 2”, together with Chris Van Tongelen and Jan Schepens. This spectacular show is a kind of “best of” with the most beautiful musical songs from Cats, Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Fame, Les Misérables… “Musicals From The Heart” is performed several months in 2000 and in 2001 in Flanders and the Netherlands. At the occasion of the 10th birthday of the accession to the throne of King Albert II, Sandra sings with numerous other Belgian artists a song to bring the Belgians closer together.

In 2005, Sandra sings “No, n’ho l’eta” on the gala for the 50th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen (Denmark). Together with Micha Marah and Afi, Sandra starts the trio “The SouldivaZ”. The three ladies bring a selection of the greatest soul hits. In 2008 “les Gauff” invite Sandra at the Francofolies of Spa to sing “Highway to hell”, the famous AC/DC hit.

In 2010, the artist that is nowadays considered as a legend in Belgium releases an album with songs written and composed by amongst others Salvatore Adamo, Dani Klein, Piet Goddaer, David Bartholomé, Anthony Sinatra and Jacques Duval. Her new album “Make up” gets a lot of positive reactions from the press and the public. On the 3rd May 2011, Sandra gives a concert in the “Botanique” in Brussels and receives a lot of positive feedback from the press. Once again she shows that she is a great performer and still has the ability to surprise with songs that people aren’t used hearing from her.

Summer 2011, Sandra sings the Belgian national anthem in the three official languages at the departure of the Grand Prix Formula 1 in Francorchamps.
