Rob has a long history in dancemusic. He is a well-known DJ/producer and a record-company owner. Who scored hits with Extince, Kadoc, Orlando Voorn (Playboy), Patrick Prins, The Scumfrog, Steve Rachmad and Rishi Bass, NouveauBeats and 2 Dirty to name just a few.

He is a walking encyclopaedia for what dance music is concerned. Working all the clubs in Holland since the start of house (and before that), he knows his way around.

After cruising around the country for so long, he decided in 1990 to set up the first real vinyl-wholesale for house music only (Boudisque) in Holland. This became an instant success and he decided to cut back on dj-ing for a while. In 1992 DJ Rob Boskamp started his own record-company called Fonky Fibe Records with labels like Urban Sound Of Amsterdam, Movin’ Melodies, Gyrate, Mighty High Musique, SMASH Records and Big Boss Records. This became a big success as well with worldwide hits.

As you can understand, his love for playing the best tunes to a big audience never faded and when he was able to leave the work of his labels in the capable hands of his partner, he picked up dj-ing again!

After releasing his first mix-cd in 1997 called “Chemical Beats”, he quickly regained the lost ground amongst his fellow DJs. By the end of 1998 he turned back to the style which he started of with and still plays up to today, being good club-music! He also got back to radio doing a weekly mix for Ruud deWild.nl on National Radio 3 (BNN-Radio) called Club Flavours. Which he did for 3 years running.

By the end of 2003 then he plays again all the clubs in the country and finds a new challenge in producing music. Several tracks found their way almost instantly on his own “Brazilian Basics” compilations. His first official release under his own name gets released on the well-known Dutch label Spinnin’ Records. DJ Rob Boskamp Vs. The Soulhustlers “Rocket 2 You” got released on 12″ and did sell like a “rocket”.

The follow up appears only a few months later on Ricciardi Records, a fashionable label that only handpicks a couple of releases per year. The song in question is called “Pela Praia” and is made by Rob in collaboration with brazilian female singer Tyrah Morena and producers-team Exceptional. It became a much played song in Ibiza and most of the other sun-related places in the world.

In January 2005 Rob re-starts his oldest and most well-known label Urban Sound of Amsterdam after a 5 year silence. The first new release is DJ Rob Boskamp “Pump It” which immediately crosses over to the charts and even gets in to the top 50 best sold singles. It gets licensed to over 30 countries and Spinnin’ Records picks up the rights in the Benelux. The track also ends up on the best selling Dutch cd “Dance Smash”.

Produced in December 2005, but officially released in 2006 is Rob Boskamp’s “In The Evening”, his biggest hit till date. The track is a cover of Sheryl Lee Ralph’s 80’s classic “In The Evening”. The remixes for this record were made by up and coming DJs/producers Dennis Christopher, Mark Simmons and 8Ball. “In The Evening” is style wise, electro house with a disco flavour. The record makes it high into the Dutch charts and gets released in over 50 countries including the UK, where it’s released on Data Records (Ministry Of Sound). A no. 2 position in the Music Week dance chart and an official chart position follows.
By the end of 2006 Rob Boskamp has an unexpected follow up hit in collaboration with young producer and friend Rishi Bass, when their track “Position”, taken from their 12″ “Latin Elektro EP”, gained so much download sales that it spontaneously got into the Dutch top 100.

His fourth top 100 hit in a row is “Bounce” which made it into the Dutch sales chart in February 2007 under the name “Rob B (oskamp) presents Club G (eneration)”.

During the summer (2007) his track “Get Your Ass Up” made it big worldwide. Based on samples of Redman and Dr. Dre it became an instant download success with plays on all important radio networks worldwide and support of all big name DJs. A new style was born: hiphop-house! Without a doubt one of the biggest tunes that year.

His status on the remix front grew quickly as well, in 2007 he made remixes for:
• Glenn B – How Bizarre
• Ron Carroll – Walking Down The Street
• Remaniax – Wreck The DJ

After the summer of 2007 Rob’s career got an enormous boost due to his eclectic dj-style. During 2008 he played 180 (!) gigs. This hectic dj-schedule kept him out of the studio producer-wise, but we can be sure that no DJ worldwide released so many mix albums in a year as he did. Big Boss Records presents The Nu House Generation, Jazz It Up, Dutch Electro Volume 2, Brazilian Basics ‘Gold’, Dutch Caribbean Grooves 2 and Brazilian Basics ‘Nuevo estylo’.

2009 Rob Boskamp will be focussing on several things this year:

His own productions:
The first new single will see the day of light on January 31st and is called “It’s All In The Mind”, a cover of the 90s hit by USURA, which he made with the very talented Househustlerz producers-duo. The second single is called “P.u.x.” and is a beautiful minimal techno track strictly for the clubs. Release will be around April.

Remix projects:
The first remix in 2009 has been released half way January and is for a track called “Boost” by The Dirtyrockers. Currently working on remixes for Robert ‘Mojito Aong’ Abigail, DONS, Kadoc and Rishi Bass.

DJing:
Even more! Rob just signed an exclusive deal with International Artists Holland, who will be focussing on selling him abroad… and in The Netherlands of course. The focus in 2009 will be on getting him placed on even more festivals, because his energetic, eclectic dj-style is worth watching!!!!
